Downtown Art Walk

What: "The free, self-guided, public art phenomenon known as The Downtown Art Walk brings together art lovers and community friends to the ever evolving downtown Los Angeles. With exciting and unique offerings around every corner, downtown celebrates the arts each and every month on the 2nd Thursday. Please refer to your calendar for specific dates. Hours vary by gallery, but can typically range from Noon – 9PM." - from Downtownartwalk.com

When: 2nd Thursday of every month.  Upcoming dates are: June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10 and December 8.

Where: The majority of the galleries are on Spring and Main between 2nd and 9th streets.
How much: FREE admission, food & drinks for purchase from food trucks and restaurants/ cafes in area

Drool factor?: 95% This is something every Los Angeleno should experience at least once.  The energy is amazing if the art is inconsistent (though always intriguing to see).  The level of energy on the streets is sort of like Vegas strip on New Year's Eve but a little more controlled and people pop in and out of galleries versus casinos.  Love seeing a lot of historic architecture that you would never otherwise pay attention to.  For foodies, there is a large gathering of gourmet food trucks in 2-3 parking lots, also free admission, so great place to catch old favs or discover new ones.
